[Financial News] Former President Yoon Seok-yeol's side reportedly did not cooperate with the request from Special Prosecutor Team Chae Sang-byeong (Lee Myung-hyun Special Prosecutor) to provide the password for his iPhone seized during the search and seizure process.
According to the legal community on the 14th, former President Yoon's side refused the request to provide the password for the iPhone seized at his residence on the 11th under the presence of his lawyer.
Additionally, it was revealed that the special prosecutor team did not receive the password for the phone seized from the residence of Lee Si-won, former Secretary of Public Discipline at the Presidential Office, on the 10th.
The special prosecutor team announced that they plan to request digital forensic work from the Supreme Prosecutors' Office for the seized phones. However, there are concerns that the forensic work on iPhones may take considerable time due to the high level of security without unlocking the password.
The special prosecutor team executed search and seizure warrants at a total of over 20 locations, including the Ministry of National Defense, the National Security Office, and former President Yoon's residence, from the 10th to the 13th. During this process, they secured over 30 phones and more than 10 computer hard disks.
