[Financial News] LIG Nex1 is embarking on the development of AI automatic collaboration technology to respond to future battlefield environments.
LIG Nex1 announced on the 14th that it will participate in the project 'Development of AI Analysis Model Automatic Collaboration Technology for Rapid Situation Awareness and Customized Response for Unmanned and Manned Complex Systems' organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
LIG Nex1, in consortium with research institutions such as the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute and the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, and technology companies like Mobigen and Konantechnology, will lead this project. They plan to invest approximately 5.9 billion KRW in R&D by 2028 to complete the technology development and verification.
The AI automatic collaboration technology aims to shift the battlefield situation analysis and response method from a single intelligence-based approach to a collaborative approach involving multiple AI models. It is a concept of implementing 'collective intelligence' among AIs that act as the brains of unmanned systems.
Through this technology development, LIG Nex1 plans to enhance immediate response capabilities to rapidly changing battlefield environments, improve operational efficiency, and elevate comprehensive mission execution capabilities.
The development through this project will be synthesized to secure intelligent situational awareness and agentic AI source technology for an intelligent command and control system.
An LIG Nex1 representative stated, "The AI automatic collaboration technology will be implemented as a defense AI infrastructure after completing core scenario verification," adding, "We will seek collaboration not only with defense companies but also with private companies requiring AI model collaboration solutions."
