To actively cooperate in emergency response in case of unusual occurrences at transfer stations
[Financial News] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) signed an agreement on the 14th to strengthen the safety of passengers using the metropolitan subway in the Seoul metropolitan area by establishing an 'Emergency Response System for Transfer Stations of Metropolitan and Urban Railway Operators'.
The agreement includes participation from Seoul Metro, Incheon Transit Corporation, Namyangju Urban Corporation, Guri Urban Corporation, Airport Railroad, NeoTrans Co., Rotem SRS Co., Ui-Sinseol Urban Railway Co., and Gimpo Gold Line SRS Co.
This agreement was promoted to ensure customer safety by quickly responding to unusual occurrences such as fires at stations and transfer stations operated by different entities on each line.
The main contents include △Establishment of an emergency contact system △Sharing of situations and cooperation in customer guidance in case of unusual occurrences △Obligation to form a safety council centered on transfer stations △Regularization of joint emergency response training (once every six months) △Holding of countermeasure meetings during large-scale events.
Choi Eun-joo, head of the Metropolitan Railway Headquarters, said, "The operating agencies have joined forces to ensure the safety of the metropolitan railway, which is closely related to the daily lives of citizens," and "We will do our best to establish a more systematic emergency response system to make the railway safe and convenient."
