[Financial News] Woori Bank announced on the 14th that it will hold the '5th WooriCON Hacking Competition' together with the Financial Security Institute.
The competition, which will be held from August 18 to 29, will be conducted in the form of a 'Bug Bounty (Security Vulnerability Reporting Reward System)' to find and eliminate security vulnerabilities in Woori Bank's Internet Banking and Woori WON Banking.
Woori Bank will comprehensively evaluate the level of security vulnerability discovery and creativity of the participating teams and select 4 teams: 1 Grand Prize, 1 Excellence Award, 1 Merit Award, and 1 Encouragement Award, awarding a total prize of 8.5 million won. Additionally, awardees will receive preferential treatment in document screening when applying for jobs at Woori Bank and the Financial Security Institute. Applications for participation are open until the 25th.
Jung Jin-wan, President of Woori Bank, stated, "As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, strengthening security capabilities in the financial sector and nurturing future information security talents are becoming more important," and added, "We hope this competition will serve as a platform to proactively respond to new types of cyberattacks and discover information security professionals."
Meanwhile, Woori Bank continues various information protection activities, including conducting a mock drill to respond to customer information leakage on the 9th.
