【Financial News Daegu=Kim Jangwook Reporter】 Daegu City has organized an essential supplementary budget of 40.5 billion won for livelihood stability and disaster response.
Daegu City announced on the 14th that it has organized the second supplementary budget proposal for 2025, amounting to 40.5 billion won for livelihood stability and disaster response, and submitted it to the Daegu City Council.
The scale of the supplementary budget proposal increased by 29.7 billion won in the general account and 10.8 billion won in the special account compared to the original budget. The main revenue sources are 15.3 billion won in non-tax revenue, 20.9 billion won in national subsidies, and 1.8 billion won in special grants.
In particular, this supplementary budget proposal was organized by selecting only essential projects for livelihood support and disaster safety response, such as the issuance of local love gift certificates and old pipeline maintenance, in line with the purpose of the government's first supplementary budget to urgently respond to livelihood and disaster.
This reflects the city's determination to promptly execute the government supplementary budget projects on the ground to fully focus on recovering the difficult local economy and stabilizing livelihoods.
Kim Jeonggi, acting mayor (Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs), emphasized, "This supplementary budget proposal was organized with a focus on rapid livelihood support linked to the government supplementary budget, such as the issuance of local love gift certificates, to recover the local economy," adding, "The livelihood recovery consumption coupons, which are scheduled to be paid on the 21st, will also play a role in stimulating consumption and investment through thorough preparation and prompt execution by the city and nine districts and counties, serving as a priming water for local economic recovery."
The city will invest 24.1 billion won for livelihood stability, including local economic recovery and support for vulnerable groups.
In addition, 16.4 billion won has been allocated for disaster and safety response to ensure the safety of citizens from various disasters such as forest fires, fires, and ground subsidence.
The city plans to promptly execute the first batch of livelihood recovery consumption coupons, which are included in the government's second supplementary budget, from July 21 through pre-supplementary budget use as soon as the national funds are allocated.
Additionally, to support the second batch of livelihood recovery consumption coupons, which will be paid from September 22, and the additional issuance of local love gift certificates, the city plans to thoroughly prepare to secure local government budget in the September supplementary budget to ensure there are no disruptions in livelihood stability support.
Meanwhile, this second supplementary budget proposal is scheduled to be finalized after deliberation at the 318th Daegu City Council extraordinary session starting on the 17th.
