[Financial News] The chicken franchise Genesis BBQ Group announced on the 14th that it has appointed Kim Ji-hoon (photo), former management leader at CJ CheilJedang, as the new CEO.
CEO Kim is a global marketing expert who earned a master's degree in marketing from Indiana University in the United States in 2005. From October 2022 to 2023, he served as the management leader in charge of food exports at CJ CheilJedang.
It is said that Chairman Yoon Hong-geun of the BBQ Group selected a global expert as he is focusing on expanding overseas business. Former CEO Shim Kwan-seop, who was appointed in July last year and has been serving as CEO, is known to have stepped down for personal reasons.
A BBQ official said, "I understand that he was recruited as the most suitable person to enhance the brand value and competitiveness of BBQ."
