[Financial News] Korea Aerospace Services (KAEMS) signed a 'business agreement to expand aircraft MRO (Maintenance·Repair·Operation) business orders and strengthen competitiveness' with Gloria Airlines on the 14th.
This agreement was promoted with the aim of expanding the business through synergy utilizing the aircraft technology of KAEMS, the only aircraft maintenance MRO specialist designated by the Korean government, and the educational cooperation network of Gloria Airlines, a company specializing in training aviation experts.
The two companies plan to closely cooperate based on mutual trust to maximize joint growth in the aircraft MRO market.
Baegi Hong, CEO of KAEMS, said, "Currently, we are providing line maintenance and heavy maintenance services to a total of 20 domestic and international airlines, including Air China in China. We will actively strive to grow the MRO industry into a future growth engine industry."
Shin Dae-hyun, CEO of Gloria Airlines, said, "We expect this MOU signing to effectively combine the strengths and capabilities of both companies, greatly securing productivity improvement and business flexibility," and "We will do our best to be evaluated as a successful cooperation model."
KAEMS is the only aircraft maintenance MRO company designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea and was established in July 2018 as a subsidiary of KAI. It leads the domestic MRO industry, focusing on mid- and heavy-maintenance and performance improvement projects for helicopters of the Korean Air Force F-16 fighters, police, coast guard, fire department, forestry agency, and marine corps.
Gloria Airlines was established in June 1990, originating from the Korea Aviation Professional School, and provides a variety of aviation services domestically and internationally, including educational businesses such as the Uljin Flight Training Center and Gloria Flight Academy, as well as leasing doctor helicopters, forest fire suppression teams, and VIP transport helicopters.
