【Financial News Naju=Hwang Taejong Reporter】KEPCO KPS, a company specializing in power facility maintenance, announced on the 14th that it has re-secured the maintenance contract for the Ilijan 1200MW combined cycle power plant located on Luzon Island, Philippines.
KEPCO KPS has been responsible for the maintenance of the Ilijan combined power plant for the past 24 years, with cumulative sales reaching over 100 billion won.
The newly undertaken project is a three-year routine maintenance contract until 2028, and it is expected that the total contract amount will reach over 20 billion won, with the possibility of handling future planned preventive maintenance and life extension-related projects.
According to KEPCO KPS, although it is the 24th year of the project, extending the contract this time was not easy. This was because the Ilijan combined power plant transitioned from the existing operator to a new joint venture of three companies, South Premiere Power Corp, which sought to switch to a direct management maintenance system.
However, KEPCO KPS was able to continue the contract by actively promoting its flawless maintenance record and technology for dealing with aging facilities.
In particular, through this contract, a stronger trust relationship has been established, which is expected to serve as a basis for expanding long-term cooperation beyond short-term achievements through additional maintenance contracts.
President Kim Hongyeon said, "Maintaining customer trust in the uncertain environment of operator change was thanks to the professionalism and responsibility of the field staff," and "Based on this contract, we will further solidify our position in the Southeast Asian maintenance market and actively pursue sustainable overseas business growth."
Meanwhile, KEPCO KPS is expanding its presence in over 20 countries worldwide, providing power facility maintenance and technical services, and is also accelerating the expansion of new global maintenance markets, including eco-friendly energy and performance improvement of aging power plants.
