Excellence in Environment, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement
[Financial News] Nexen Tire announced on the 14th that it has obtained a 'Gold' rating for two consecutive years in the EcoVadis ESG evaluation, a global sustainability research organization.
EcoVadis is a global ESG evaluation agency headquartered in France, evaluating the level of corporate sustainability management implementation focusing on a total of 4 areas: △Environment △Labor & Human Rights △Ethics △Sustainable Procurement. The evaluation assigns ratings of Platinum (Top 1%), Gold (Top 5%), Silver (Top 15%), and Bronze (Top 35%).
In this evaluation, Nexen Tire achieved results in the top 3% overall, with scores rising evenly across all areas.
In the environment sector, high scores were obtained through participation in international initiatives such as the Sustainable Natural Rubber Platform, UN Global Compact, and Science Based Targets Initiative, along with employee education on energy transition and climate response, and disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions across all scopes.
In the labor & human rights sector, trust was gained as a human rights risk management system through the enhancement of human rights management policies and declarations in line with UN and International Labour Organization standards, and the introduction of human rights impact assessments.
In the ethics sector, management internalization was strengthened through the systematization of risk prevention, inspection, and mitigation activities, and in the sustainable procurement sector, risk response activities based on ESG written diagnostics and on-site inspections for partners led to score improvements.
A Nexen Tire representative stated, "Maintaining the EcoVadis Gold rating is a result of our efforts in sustainable management being internationally recognized," and added, "We will continue to pursue responsible management to meet the expectations of global stakeholders."
