DeepL "7 out of 10 office workers use AI translators"

[Financial News] A survey result showed that 7 out of 10 office workers in Korea use artificial intelligence (AI) translation services.
DeepL, which provides AI translation services, announced on the 14th that in a recent survey on the use of AI translation tools by domestic office workers, 67.6% of respondents said they are already using AI translation tools in their work.
This survey was conducted on 500 office workers across all industries, including marketing, IT, and legal sectors.
The most widely used AI tool among domestic office workers was general-purpose AI (88.4%). AI translators (67.6%), AI meeting summarization tools (26.6%), AI writing assistants (17.2%), and image generation tools (13.2%) followed.
Respondents using translation tools reported experiencing practical effects such as time savings (91.7%), cost reduction (89.6%), and reduced workload (89.9%). In particular, 75.4% of respondents said that AI translation services help improve their existing work capabilities.
Regarding future usage plans, 89.2% of respondents said they plan to continue using them. 86.8% said they plan to increase their usage.
Translation quality satisfaction was 74.9%. There were also responses that they experienced a decline in the quality of their products or services due to translation errors (46.7%) and project delays due to communication issues with overseas partners (35.8%).
When choosing an AI translator, accuracy (82.2%) and sentence naturalness (73.7%) were the most important criteria. Speed was only 34.6%. There was a high preference for translation solutions with precision and accurate contextual understanding beyond just speed.
DeepL explained that this survey result shows that AI translators have already established themselves as specialized AI solutions widely adopted by domestic office workers.
