Addition of 'Jjamppong Sundubu' and 'Dakgalbi' as Gangwon Province Hometown Love Donation Return Gifts

【Financial News Chuncheon=Kim Gi-seop Reporter】Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 14th that it has additionally selected 30 types from 19 companies as return gifts for the 2025 Hometown Love Donation.
The province conducted additional recruitment last June, and 21 companies applied with 34 types of items, which were reviewed and finalized by the Return Gift Selection Committee.
As a result, the types of return gifts provided by Gangwon Province this year increased to 158 types from 104 companies.
The newly selected return gifts include 26 types of agricultural, livestock, marine, and forest products and processed goods, 3 types of crafts and industrial products, and 1 type of other.
In the field of specialties and processed goods, famous local foods such as △Donghwa Garden Jjamppong Sundubu (Gangneung) △Squid Sundae (Sokcho) △Dakgalbi (Chuncheon) have been added.
In the field of crafts and industrial products, △Hair Loss Relief Scalp Ampoule (Chuncheon) △Soap Set (Chuncheon) are introduced for the first time.
Additionally, donors to the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Hometown Love can choose 'Love's Fruit Points' as return gifts. 'Love's Fruit' is a sharing campaign organized by the Community Chest of Korea, and the Love's Fruit Points re-donated by donors will be used for energy support projects for vulnerable groups in the province.
Meanwhile, Gangwon Province has discovered 290 types of return gifts since 2023 and has provided a total of 230 million won worth of return gifts by last June, supporting the production activities of local small businesses.
Among the return gifts, traditional specialties such as Gangwon San Don, Hoengseong Hanwoo, Chuncheon Well-being Dakgalbi, and Cheorwon Odae Rice are popular, and desserts that meet the tastes of the younger generation, such as Gangwon Potato Tart, Potato Bread, and Gabemanjyu Coffee Bread, are continuously being introduced.
Kim Ju-yong, Gangwon Province Regional Extinction Response Policy Officer, said, "We have carefully selected high-quality return gifts to provide to donors who love Gangwon Province," and "We will actively promote Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province's return gifts in the second half of this year to help small businesses going through difficult times and to accelerate the fundraising of Hometown Love Donations."
