[Financial News] Woongjin is enhancing the AI utilization skills of all employees.
Woongjin announced on the 14th that it held its first practical AI hackathon '2025 AI RUNNER CHALLENGE' for all employees.
This event is part of Woongjin's company-wide initiative to internalize employee AI capabilities. It was planned to directly implement AI-based business innovation ideas. With the support of consulting partner Amazon Web Services (AWS), it was operated with a focus on practical application of the latest AI technology. 29 teams and 107 people participated, competing for a month from June 9.
Participants received lectures and practical training on generative AI tailored to their roles, as well as idea development consulting from AWS Korea. Based on this, each team carried out real-world projects in four areas: △Customer support and communication automation △Work and document process automation △Data and system operation automation △AI advancement based on Woongjin industry-specific solutions (WDMS·WRMS).
In this hackathon, various ideas were proposed, such as △'AI Grievance Counseling Analysis System' that visualizes risks by having AI directly counsel and analyze data △'AI ERP Analysis Tool' that supports financial forecasting and anomaly detection by analyzing ERP data with generative AI △'Multilingual Voice of Customer (VOC) System' that serves overseas customers with a single Korean manual.
Woongjin evaluated the AI utilization, creativity, business value, and completeness of the projects to select the award-winning works. For the selected ideas, feasibility will be reviewed and further development will be pursued.
Lee Sooyoung, CEO of Woongjin, said, "I hope all employees will experience AI directly and lead business innovation and customer-centric services based on it," adding, "In an era where ideas become competitiveness beyond experience and technology, Woongjin will lead market changes through the convergence of technology and data."
