Improved Epoxy Drawbacks... Extended Work Time and Removal of Odor and VOC
[Financial News] Hanil Cement announced on the 14th that it has launched a new product 'HiEpoxy' that complements the drawbacks of existing epoxy-based tile adhesives. It is explained that while maintaining the adhesive strength of existing products, it has both work convenience and environmental friendliness.
HiEpoxy was completed after about 3 years of development. Existing epoxy-based adhesives boast excellent adhesive strength but had many usage restrictions due to strong odors and short working times. Hanil Cement improved these limitations to develop HiEpoxy, which has no odor and does not emit volatile organic compounds (VOC).
This product is used by mixing one pack of powder and one can of liquid. Existing epoxy-based products must be used within 60 minutes after opening, but HiEpoxy can be used for more than 90 minutes, providing greater work flexibility. Additionally, it increased deformation resistance by blending polymer components and is effective in preventing fire spread as it is made of non-combustible materials.
The product has also been recognized for its technology. HiEpoxy won a technology award at the academic conference hosted by the Korean Institute of Building Construction.
Hanil Cement is continuously investing in the development of eco-friendly building materials. According to the '2024 Sustainability Management Report' published by Hanil Holdings, the research and development cost for 2024 is about 3.9 billion won, an increase of 1.1 billion won compared to the previous year.
A Hanil Cement official stated, “We will continue to develop products that reflect the needs of construction sites in response to rapidly changing construction trends and the demand for eco-friendly building materials.”
