[Financial News] Seoul City is conducting education to enhance citizens' understanding of urban renewal projects.
Seoul City announced on the 14th that it will conduct the '2025 Citizen Urban Renewal Academy' visiting 25 districts by November.
Starting with 5 districts including Seodaemun-gu in July, 5 districts including Dobong-gu in August, and ending with Jung-gu in November, a total of 25 sessions will be held.
This academy focuses on explaining major urban renewal policies such as Rapid Integrated Planning, Moa Town, and Public Support System in a simple and systematic way tailored to citizens' perspectives. Given the complexity of the systems and procedures, the aim is to share the concerns and questions citizens face in the field. The lectures will include free Q&A sessions and special lectures on topics of interest to citizens.
Any citizen wishing to participate can make a reservation online through the 'Seoul City Public Reservation System' or by phone (02-940-7662) through the 'Citizen Urban Renewal Academy Secretariat'.
Seoul City plans to develop a sustainable citizen participation-based education method by providing additional education and individual consultation support linked with the visiting Urban Renewal Resident School and on-site consultation centers even after the education.
Choi Jin-seok, Seoul City Housing Director, said, "Urban renewal is not just simple urban development but an important process that changes citizens' lives and daily routines," adding, "We expect this Citizen Urban Renewal Academy to open the way for citizens to become the main agents of urban renewal policy and protect their rights based on correct understanding."
