Improved Performance for All Seasons, as well as Longevity and Quietness
[Financial News] Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) announced on the 14th that it has launched the premium all-weather tire 'Weatherflex GT' in the domestic market.
Weatherflex GT is the first model of the next-generation premium all-weather tire brand 'Weatherflex'. It has not only acquired the essential certification mark for European winter tires '3PMSF', but also combines significantly improved mileage (tire lifespan), comfortable ride, and quietness to provide the best driving experience in all seasons and climates throughout the year.
The product demonstrates excellent handling and control capabilities on snowy, icy, wet, and dry roads. The pattern design optimized for winter road surfaces and the application of zigzag grooves (tire surface grooves) enhance winter driving stability, and the design of long and wide transverse grooves strengthens drainage performance on wet roads. Additionally, the tire area supporting block rigidity and vehicle load is increased to improve driving stability.
Technologies to enhance tire lifespan and quietness have also been applied. Weatherflex GT adopts a newly developed latest all-weather compound (a mixture of tire raw materials) and a pattern design that evenly distributes tire contact pressure during driving to prevent abnormal wear, significantly improving mileage performance. Through block arrangement and pattern design that minimize impact and noise from road surfaces during driving, it supports a comfortable ride and quietness throughout all seasons.
Furthermore, the asymmetric tread pattern, inspired by broadleaf leaves, and the adoption of kerfs (thin grooves on the tire surface) reminiscent of coniferous trees deliver consistent driving performance in various driving environments such as dry roads, wet roads, and snowy roads.
Yong-Kwan Lee, head of Hankook Tire's Korea Business Division, said, "As abnormal climate phenomena become more frequent, consumer demand for all-weather tires is continuously rising not only in overseas regions but also domestically," adding, "As Weatherflex GT is a tire with excellent adaptability to all seasons and climates, it is expected to provide an ideal choice for domestic consumers in the future."
