[Financial News] The Korean Red Cross announced on the 14th that it held a special concert commemorating the 120th anniversary of the Korean Red Cross and the 80th anniversary of liberation at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 10th.
This concert was organized as part of the "Campaign to Help Descendants of Independence Patriots" promoted by the Korean Red Cross, and was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Korea Zinc, Woori Bank, Industrial Bank of Korea, and the Korean Red Cross Chairman's Advisory Committee. About 2,000 people, including descendants and families of independence patriots, government and Liberation Association officials, Red Cross volunteers, blood donors, and donors attended the concert.
The concert, hosted by Kim Min-jeong, a blood donation ambassador for the Korean Red Cross, featured the Gangneung Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Jeong Min), a top domestic orchestra, performing world-famous pieces by Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, as well as Korean songs like "Shin Arirang" and "Myeongtae."
Kim Cheol-soo, Chairman of the Korean Red Cross, said, "Although 80 years have passed since liberation, I wanted to talk about the descendants of independence patriots who are still in difficult situations," and "I hope this concert will lead to continued public interest and support for independence patriots."
The funds raised through this concert will be used for living expenses, emergency medical expenses, and housing improvements for descendants of independence patriots. The Korean Red Cross plans to continue citizen participation campaigns to improve awareness and expand support for descendants of independence patriots.
