According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the financial industry on the 14th, Shinhan Bank, Hana Bank, Woori Bank, and IBK Bank have been selected as participating companies for the private opening of mobile IDs in 2025. Including Samsung Electronics, which started related services in March, and KB Kookmin Bank, NH Nonghyup Bank, Viva Republica (Toss), and Kakao Bank, which will start services at the end of this month, the number of apps that can issue and use mobile IDs will increase to a total of 10.
The additionally selected banks plan to start system development this month and complete the construction by March next year. If they pass the suitability evaluation by the evaluation agency by June, they are expected to start the mobile ID service from July.
