[Financial News]  A shocking case where a woman in her 20s dragged in her husband, lover, and another man to confine at least two women and force them into prostitution over 1000 times has been revisited.
On the 12th, SBS 'I Want to Know That' revealed the reality of the 'Women's Hell Confinement Case' that occurred in Daegu three years ago.
The case came to light in May last year when victim A escaped from the house she lived in with her husband. She confessed that although she cut off contact after registering her marriage, it was not her will to get married.
Ms. A claimed that she was forced to register her marriage with her lover Mr. Shin due to threats from Ms. Tae, a woman she had lived with in the past, and was confined in that house, forced into prostitution over 1000 times. Mr. Shin was Ms. Tae's lover, and there was a 'sadistic conspiracy group' including Ms. Tae's husband and another man.
Ms. A was repeatedly forced into prostitution from September 2022 to May 2023, and confessed that she lived like a servant to Ms. Tae, suffering extreme mental domination and exploitation. She lamented, "The men of Ms. Tae seemed pathetic, living under the influence of women's skirts."
However, Ms. A was not the only victim. Ms. B, who was a restaurant employee, was gaslighted by Ms. Tae and eventually dragged into prostitution. Even after giving birth, Ms. Tae made bizarre demands like "lend me your daughter for a day," and as a result, Ms. B entered Ms. Tae's house with her husband Mr. Cho and became another victim of sexual exploitation.
Mr. Cho even helped his wife's prostitution and threatened her. On days when they couldn't meet the prostitution fee, he would resort to violence. This couple extorted over 100 million won from the victims' prostitution earnings and even took hundreds of millions from their families.
The reality of 'modern-day slave breeding,' where victimized women were treated like 'servants' and money was sucked out through sexual exploitation, sparked national outrage.
However, the perpetrators' reactions were even more shocking. Ms. Tae's mother defended her daughter, saying, "It's her first offense, and a 10-year sentence is too harsh," while the husbands claimed in court, "We just did what she told us," expressing their grievances.
An expert stated, "The husbands' actions were voluntary participation, and pleasure was the purpose. They did not simply succumb to Ms. Tae's orders."
As a result of the trial, Ms. Tae was sentenced to 10 years in prison, Ms. A's husband Mr. Shin to 5 years, and Ms. B's husband Mr. Cho to 7 years.
