Canon Korea announced on the 14th that it participated in life-sharing by donating blood donation certificates collected through group blood donations by employees to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation.
Canon Korea is practicing corporate social responsibility by developing various social contribution activities based on the corporate value of 'symbiosis'. Employees are spreading the value of sharing through more than 8 hours of volunteer work every year, and this blood donation activity was also conducted as part of these efforts.
Group blood donations were conducted twice last month on the 23rd at the Canon Korea headquarters located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and on the 25th at the Ansan business office. Canon Korea is contributing to a stable blood supply by implementing not only individual blood donations but also regular group blood donations through the voluntary participation of employees. The 228 blood donation certificates collected through this blood donation will be donated to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation to be meaningfully used for the treatment and transfusion support of children with pediatric cancer.
Lee Seong-yeol, the manager in charge of business support at Canon Korea, who participated in the blood donation, said, "Blood donation is a small act of sharing, but it feels more meaningful because it can save someone's life," and "I feel even more rewarded thinking that this blood donation, in which I participated with my colleagues, will provide practical help to children with pediatric cancer."
Park Jeong-woo, CEO of Canon Korea, said, "I deeply thank the employees who voluntarily participated in the precious blood donation that saves lives," and "Canon Korea will continue to carry out various social contribution activities as a responsible company that practices the value of sharing with the local community."
