Strategies for Corporate Response to Lee Government Labor Policy
[Financial News] Law Firm YK has decided to hold a seminar to share countermeasures to the new government's labor policy with the Korean In-House Lawyers Association.
YK announced on the 14th that it will jointly hold a seminar on 'New Government Labor Policy and Serious Accidents' with the Korean In-House Lawyers Association at YK's main office in Gangnam, Seoul, on the 21st.
In light of the expected major shift in labor policy, including the Yellow Envelope Act (Amendment to the Trade Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act), criteria for determining employer status, improvement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act system, and discussions on the introduction of a 4.5-day workweek, the aim is to explore practical response strategies for companies.
This seminar is prepared for corporate HR, labor, and legal affairs personnel. Amid significant changes anticipated across the labor policy spectrum, YK plans to present strategic reviews and response measures for overall HR and compliance management.
The seminar will be conducted in a total of 3 sessions. In the first session, Professor Park Duyong from Hansung University, who served as the director of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, will give a presentation on 'Corporate Challenges and Future System Improvement Directions After the Implementation of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.' He will address the establishment and implementation of corporate safety and health systems, and directions for system revision.
In the second session, former Minister of Employment and Labor Lee Jeong-sik will give a presentation on 'Strategies for Labor-Management Negotiations After the Discussion of the 4.5-Day Workweek and the Passage of the Yellow Envelope Act.' He will analyze the background and trends of institutional changes and present corporate-level response measures.
In the third session, Professor Lee Sang-hee of Chung-Ang University, president of the Korean Labor Law Association, will give a presentation on 'Criteria for Determining Employer Status of the Principal Employer and Corporate Response.' He plans to forecast and analyze the employer status of the principal employer in cases of indirect employment and labor committee incidents, using examples such as Asahi Broadcasting in Japan.
Jo In-seon, head of the YK Serious Accident Center, said, "We expect this to be an opportunity to preemptively check major risks due to changes in the new government labor policy and to help prepare practical response strategies."
