The Kim Geon-hee special investigation team is securing document materials and PC files from the office of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in Sejong and the offices of Donghae Comprehensive Engineering Corporation and Kyungdong Engineering, which were in charge of the Yangpyeong Expressway project service, on the morning of the 14th. However, the targets of this raid did not include former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong and Kim Seon-kyo, a member of the People Power Party.
The Yangpyeong Expressway route change allegations involve the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport allegedly giving preferential treatment by changing the terminal route to the land area of Kim Geon-hee's family while promoting the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway project during the tenure of former Minister Won. It is reported that Representative Kim, a former Yangpyeong County Governor, requested the route change to the point where Kim's family land is located.
The special investigation team is tightening the reins on the Yangpyeong Expressway route change allegations following the 'Sambu Construction stock manipulation allegations', 'People Power Party nomination intervention allegations', and the 'Butler Gate'. As the team applies comprehensive pressure on Kim, there is also speculation that Kim will be summoned for investigation once the team completes a certain level of investigation.
