【Financial News Suwon=Jang Chung-sik Reporter】Gyeonggi Province announced on the 14th that it will start accepting the second round of applications for the 'Infant and Toddler Educational Materials Delivery Service' from the 21st.
This project is part of the 8th childcare pledge, aiming to spread play culture at home and support parenting through the provision of educational materials and play consulting tailored to developmental stages.
The support targets are households with infants and toddlers aged 0~35 months residing in the province, with priority given to vulnerable groups (basic livelihood recipients, near-poverty households, single-parent families).
Eligible households can inquire and apply through the Administrative Welfare Center, and the province plans to prioritize support for socially disadvantaged families.
Additionally, households with children aged 0~11 months who do home care (not using childcare institutions) and general households with children aged 12~35 months (first-come, first-served basis) can also apply.
In this case, applications can be made online by checking the notices on the website of the local Childcare Comprehensive Support Center.
The province not only provides educational materials but also offers non-face-to-face education containing methods for using the materials and play ideas, and households that wish can apply for advanced play coaching through play instructors assigned to each city and county.
Last year, the province supported 4,440 households, and this year, the number of target households has been significantly increased to 15,990, with the third recruitment scheduled for September.
Ko Hyun-sook, head of the Gyeonggi Province Childcare Policy Division, said, "We will contribute to enhancing parents' confidence in play and ensuring the play rights of infants and toddlers through educational materials and play education tailored to developmental stages."
