[Financial News] KT announced on the 14th that it has signed a contract with Military Mutual Aid Association C&C for the 'Defense Nara Sarang Card Issuance and Operation System Construction' project and will officially begin establishing the next-generation defense Nara Sarang card issuance platform.
This project is to establish a defense digital infrastructure that supports the safe and efficient operation of the Nara Sarang card. KT plans to significantly enhance the efficiency of military administration by building a platform that simultaneously strengthens user convenience and security by the end of the year.
KT will establish a △biometric authentication-based unmanned self-registration system △smart issuance management platform △business support system with enhanced security system △integrated system that improves user accessibility and convenience, simplifying the entire process from application to issuance and history management of the Nara Sarang card, accelerating the digital transformation of the Military Manpower Administration.
KT has been recognized for its technical capabilities in architectural design considering a future-oriented IT infrastructure environment, military administration simplification measures applying the latest technology, and portal design based on user-centered user experience (UX), and was selected as the final contractor.
The system to be established this time includes facial and fingerprint-based biometric authentication within the Military Manpower Administration, real-time identity verification using artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud-based flexible infrastructure scalability. Additionally, it provides a digital-based 'next-generation Nara Sarang card issuance platform' that offers practical convenience to both conscripts and administrative agencies by linking systems with financial institutions and the Military Manpower Administration.
KT plans to successfully complete this project based on its experience in carrying out numerous defense digital infrastructure construction projects, such as the next-generation intelligent software-centered data center (SDDC) based Defense Integrated Data Center construction, Defense Broadband Integrated Network (M-BcN) construction project, and smart unit construction project.
