Bucheon City Selected as 'Outstanding Institution for Fine Dust Reduction'

【Financial News Bucheon=Kim Kyungsoo Reporter】 Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 14th that it was selected as an outstanding institution for the '2025 Fine Dust Reduction Excellent City/County Evaluation' conducted by Gyeonggi Province for four consecutive years.
The evaluation divided 31 cities/counties into three groups according to population. The results were calculated by combining self-evaluation (70%) and expert evaluation (30%) on 22 indicators in three major areas, including management of fine dust emission sources.
Bucheon City received high marks for expanding public electric vehicle charging facilities, checking emissions from operating vehicles, and operating a reward system for reporting smoky vehicles. In particular, it achieved a reduction in the annual average concentration of ultrafine dust from 32㎍/㎥ to 20㎍/㎥.
During the '6th Seasonal Management System (December 2024~March 2025)', a period of high fine dust concentration, it promoted air pollution reduction policies and recorded 52 days of 'good' air quality.
The city plans to further enhance its response capabilities during periods of high fine dust concentration while continuing existing policies such as strengthening the management of vehicle emissions.
A Bucheon City official said, "This selection as an outstanding institution is the result of various departments working together to consistently improve air quality," and added, "We will do our best to create a pleasant air environment that citizens can feel."
