Showcase of Jang Kalguksu to be held on the 15th
This event is part of the official program of the 2025 Macau World Gourmet Festival, designed to promote culinary cultural exchanges between UNESCO Creative Cities and introduce the unique food identities of each city. Gangneung City was officially invited and is participating in two showcases on the 13th and 15th.
In the first showcase, Gangneung City conducted a cooking demonstration themed on 'Sundubu Jeongol' using local specialty Sundubu.
The second showcase, to be held on the 15th, will feature Jang Kalguksu, once again introducing the taste of Gangneung on the world stage, and plans to emphasize the diversity and depth of Gangneung gastronomy through a spicy soup dish containing the region's jang culture.
Lee Hwa-jeong, head of Gangneung City's Culture and Arts Division, said, "The local response to Sundubu Jeongol in the first showcase was very enthusiastic," and "We will prepare to further promote the creativity and identity of Gangneung's culinary culture through Jang Kalguksu, another representative dish of Gangneung, in the second showcase."
