'Electricity Thief' Public Enterprise Employee… Secretly Charging Electric Car with Company Electricity

[Financial News]  It has been reported that a public enterprise employee who used the company's communal electricity, produced by its own generator, for unauthorized charging of his electric car for several years has been caught, and the company has taken action.

News1 reported on the 14th that an employee, Mr. A, working at Chuncheon Urban Corporation, was found to have been charging his electric car unauthorizedly with electricity produced by the company's own generator from 2023 until recently, about 1~2 times a month.

Mr. A is said to have mainly used the weekends to draw communal electricity from the company's electric car charging zone, which is only for official vehicles.

The public enterprise in question produces electricity with a steam turbine generator, and it is regulated that this communal electricity cannot be used for personal purposes. A steam turbine generator is a device that produces electricity by operating a steam turbine with heat generated when incinerating household waste.

The public enterprise requested an audit of Mr. A from the audit department around the 14th~15th and plans to impose disciplinary action based on the investigation results.
