Daegu City, Recruiting Candidates for SME Awards

【Financial News Daegu=Kim Jangwook Reporter】 Daegu City announced on the 14th that they are recruiting candidate companies for the '2025 Daegu City SME Awards' until August 8, which are leading the development of the local economy through productivity improvement and technology development amid rapid domestic and international changes.
Eligible applicants are outstanding SMEs that have been continuously operating with headquarters and business sites (factories for manufacturing) in the city for more than 3 years as of the announcement date, and have shown remarkable growth in new technology development, sales increase, and job creation.
The city plans to select a total of 6 companies (1 grand prize, 2 excellence awards, 3 merit awards) after document review on qualification and disqualification reasons, financial evaluation and actual condition survey by Daegu Credit Guarantee Foundation, and final evaluation by the judging committee.
The awards will be held at the '2025 Daegu SME Conference' scheduled for November.
Park Gihwan, Director of Economic Affairs, said, "SMEs are a strong pillar responsible for the region's economy and employment," adding, "We ask for many applications and interest in this contest to enhance the pride and honor of SMEs that have contributed to regional development despite difficult conditions."
A variety of benefits are provided to the award-winning companies, including preferential support for SME development funds (2 years), dispatch of overseas market exploration teams, priority support for overseas exhibitions and fairs (2 years), and tax audit deferment (3 years) according to the city's local tax audit operation rules.
Applications can be made through the economic departments of the districts and counties where the business site is located, economic organizations (Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Korea Federation of SMEs Daegu Regional Headquarters, Daegu Employers Federation, etc.), or corporate support institutions (Daegu Technopark, Daegu Gyeongbuk Design Center, Daegu Digital Industry Promotion Agency, etc.).
Meanwhile, the SME Awards have been implemented since 1996 to boost the management motivation and pride of local companies, and a total of 180 companies have been honored with awards so far.
