[Financial News] U.S. retail giant Walmart has recalled a specific model of stainless steel thermos sold nationwide. The reason for the recall was the risk of serious lid accidents.
On the 12th (local time), according to foreign media such as AP News, Walmart announced that it would recall 850,000 units of the 'Ozark Trail' 64-ounce stainless steel thermos sold in stores nationwide since 2017.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) stated in a notice released on the 10th that this recall could "pose a risk of serious shock," explaining that "if you try to open the bottle after storing food, carbonated drinks, juice, or milk for a long time, the lid can pop out with strong force."
CPSC also revealed that as of the 10th, Walmart had reported 3 cases of consumers being injured in the face while opening the bottle, and 2 of them suffered permanent vision loss due to being hit in the eyes.
Walmart has requested consumers to immediately stop using the bottle and contact Walmart for a full refund.
