[Financial News] Kang Sun-woo, the Minister of Gender Equality and Family nominee, has refuted allegations that she ordered her staff to repair toilets and separate trash, claiming it was an 'abuse of power'. She explained that two former staff members are maliciously reporting false information.
Kang's side sent a message to the Democratic Party's personnel hearing committee on this day, stating, "The two former aides who are reporting false information were individuals who caused severe internal conflicts and attendance issues."
Regarding toilet repairs or trash disposal, it was explained that Kang, who has a housekeeper, does not need to do household chores herself.
It was particularly noted that the allegations themselves are not direct explanations from the person involved, but rather third-party accounts.
Regarding the replacement of aides 46 times over the five years since being elected in the 2020 parliamentary election, it was stated, "This is a cumulative number that includes changes in rank and duplicates of the same person," and "In reality, it is 28 people, which is a usual level."
Kang's side also addressed the allegation that Kang omitted her husband's stock options in her property report, explaining that while the company granted them collectively, her husband expressed his intention to refuse, and it has not yet been canceled.
