Shinhan Bank, Selected as Final Company for 'Mobile ID' Private Opening by Ministry of Interior and Safety

[Financial News] Shinhan Bank announced on the 13th that it has been finally selected as a participant in the '2025 Mobile ID Private Opening' announced by the Ministry of Interior and Safety.
The Ministry of Interior and Safety conducted a public contest for the selection of participating companies from the 9th of last month to the 4th of this month. Shinhan Bank was selected as the final participating company by receiving high scores in each evaluation category, including △security level △privacy protection measures △reliability △disability response system △activation plan.
Mobile ID is a digital ID that can be safely stored on an individual's smartphone for convenient use. It can be used for identity verification, driver qualification verification, identity proof, and age verification both online and offline.
Shinhan Bank plans to build the system by March next year and provide mobile ID services through the 'Shinhan SOL Bank' app from July.
A Shinhan Bank official said, "Participating in this project is the first step in strengthening the digital identity infrastructure so that customers can conveniently and safely use financial services," adding, "We will do our best to prepare so that the mobile ID service can be used easily and quickly on 'Shinhan SOL Bank'."
