Startup in its 3rd Year, Achieves WIPO's 'CES Innovation Award'
The Global Awards are presented by WIPO since 2022 to SMEs and startups that create economic and social value with creative and innovative business models utilizing intellectual property (IP). This year, 780 companies from 95 countries applied, and 10 companies from 9 countries were finally selected. Following last year's AI robot development environment company Eighttech, this year Codegrim has the honor of winning the award.
Award-winning companies are provided with benefits such as customized intellectual property business mentoring for 6-12 weeks, global promotion through the WIPO platform, intellectual property strategy consulting, and invitations to the official WIPO awards ceremony.
Established in 2022, Codegrim developed a platform that allows anyone to easily create 3D content-based web pages without programming knowledge, based on patents related to 3D website creation. This service is attracting attention as a technology applicable to various industries such as education, culture, tourism, and shopping.
The WIPO international judging panel stated, “Codegrim is an exemplary case of a women and youth entrepreneur connecting intellectual property-based technology to practical services,” and noted, “It is impressive that 3 out of the 10 award-winning companies this year are women-led startups under 35.”
Yoon Juwon, CEO of Codegrim, expressed, “Our starting point was to help anyone easily create 3D websites, and I am thrilled to prove that dream to the world in the language of intellectual property,” adding, “I hope this award will be a great encouragement to many young and women entrepreneurs walking the same path.”
Kim Wanki, Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, said, “This award is significant as it is a case where Codegrim protected creative ideas with patents and strategically utilized them for commercialization,” and added, “The Korean Intellectual Property Office will continue to actively support our companies to enter the global market through the WIPO Global Awards.”
