[Financial News] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education is strengthening management to ensure the safety of students attending Neulbom School and care classes during the summer vacation. Additionally, they plan to focus on safety education to prevent heatwaves and water safety accidents during the summer.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 13th that they have prepared the '2025 Comprehensive Summer Student Safety Enhancement Plan' and will fully implement it from the 14th, ahead of the full-scale summer vacation.
Recently, there have been multiple factors threatening student safety during the summer, such as the Busan apartment fire child accident and the heatwave crisis alert 'Warning' level being issued. Amidst this, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education has prepared a comprehensive plan to strengthen the safety network in vulnerable areas of student life safety inside and outside schools ahead of the summer vacation.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education plans to build a safety net by clearly dividing the roles of each department and educational support office for each key promotion item to support effective measures.
First, to strengthen the safety of Neulbom School students, they will enhance patrols inside and outside the school and manage external access, as well as conduct student attendance management and guidance for leaving school. They will also conduct safety return home, safety in educational activities, emergency situation preparedness plans, self-training, and inspections.
They will also inspect risk factors such as areas prone to flooding or slippery sections on major school commuting routes. Any risk factors found during inspections will be improved through cooperation systems with related organizations such as the Commuting Route Safety Council.
In collaboration with the relevant fire department, they will conduct 'Fire Safety Education Visiting Schools' for lower-grade elementary students living in areas with dense old apartment complexes. Additionally, they plan to distribute educational materials in the form of home correspondence to strengthen the fire response capabilities of parents and students.
Furthermore, they plan to distribute home correspondence to familiarize students with action guidelines to prevent heatwave safety accidents and water safety accidents before the summer vacation.
Jeong Geun-sik, Superintendent of Education, said, "We will focus all administrative capabilities on protecting children from summer disaster safety accidents, prioritizing the health and safety of students as the highest value."
