【Financial News Hongcheon=Kim Gi-seop Reporter】Two festivals filled with the passion and emotion of the hot summer will be held consecutively in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, just an hour away from the metropolitan area, from the 25th to August 3rd.
The Hongcheon Cultural Foundation will hold the 29th Hongcheon Corn Festival, which contains the history and pride of Hongcheon beyond simple taste, at the parking lot of the Hongcheon County Sports Complex for three days from the 25th to the 27th.
Hongcheon is the only place in the country with a corn research institute, offering a special opportunity to meet top-grade corn certified as Agricultural Product Geographical Indication No. 15 at a reasonable price.
The festival venue will feature booths with a variety of agricultural products and food, with participation from four local agricultural cooperatives and small business owners.
Additionally, the 3rd Hongcheon River Starlight National Music Festival preliminaries and the 2025 National Youth Comprehensive Arts Festival, where talented individuals from across the country participate, will add to the lively and joyful atmosphere of the festival.
Along with this, a special service called 'Oksigi Platform' will be operated, providing convenient delivery of purchased corn to vehicles, and a free shuttle bus circulating Hongcheon city nine times a day and a cool air-conditioned shelter to escape the heat will be operated, making the festival site more comfortable and enjoyable.


From the 30th, the 9th Hongcheon River Starlight Music Beer Festival will be held under the slogan 'Let's Play Hip!' at the Urban Forest Park Torisup until August 3rd.
The eve event held on the first day of the festival on the main street in front of Kkotmoe Park will add excitement with a street parade uniting all Hongcheon residents and a beer drinking contest held with pride between institutions.
In particular, there is intense interest from local residents in whether last year's winning team, the Hongcheon Police Station, can maintain its throne despite intense checks from other institutions.
The eve event, as part of ESG management considering the environment, allows unlimited beer consumption for the day by purchasing a reusable container, the 'Starlight LED Beer Cup,' and encourages purchasing snacks from nearby markets to promote local economic revitalization.
The main festival, moving to Torisup, will be divided into zones such as the main zone with splendid lighting, line-up, and DJ performances, the starlight zone filled with the romance of the ginkgo forest and fountains under the starlight, and the water zone where you can cool your feet in the water along with food trucks, catering to visitors' preferences.
Additionally, programs offering unique experiences such as a goods store in collaboration with Gangwon FC, a drone light show, paddleboard, moon boat experience, and a tour of the Hite Gangwon Factory are well prepared.
Along with this, energetic events such as the World Wet Dance Battle, World Wet Dance Contest, and the 3rd Hongcheon River Starlight National Music Festival will be held one after another, providing unforgettable memories to visitors.
