[Financial News] The main product line of the home appliance brand Minix, operated by At Home, has changed. The performance of the food waste processor has far surpassed that of the mini dryer, which has represented the Minix brand. At Home plans to further expand the Minix appliance lineup following the mini dryer and food waste processor.
According to related industries on the 13th, the Minix food waste processor 'The Plender' series has sold over 200,000 units since its first release in September 2023. This figure far surpasses the cumulative sales of 140,000 units of the Minix mini dryer, which was first introduced in April 2023.
The Plender's sales increased more than threefold compared to the same period last year until May this year. In particular, sales in April exceeded 20,000 units for the first time on a monthly basis.
The brand that represented At Home was the Minix mini dryer. At Home has been able to continue its upward performance trend every year since its establishment in 2018, thanks to the increase in sales of the Minix mini dryer, which reflects the latest trends such as the increase in single-person households in Korea.
Last year, At Home achieved sales of over 100 billion won for the first time, recording 115 billion won, more than doubling the previous year's sales due to the strong sales of food waste processors. During the same period, it also turned a profit by recording an operating profit of 8 billion won.
At Home is focusing all its efforts on increasing the production of food waste processors in line with the trend of food waste processors becoming essential appliances. In this regard, in March, it acquired the management rights and factory of the food waste processor manufacturer Fore.
At Home is also enthusiastic about expanding its food waste processor lineup. In fact, it recently launched the fully automatic food waste processor 'The Plender PRO'. This product sold out all 5,000 units in just one hour on home shopping in April.
An At Home representative said, "Recently, food waste processors that minimize user intervention and 'do it all for you' are emerging as new selection criteria, and accordingly, the demand for 'The Plender PRO' is steadily increasing," adding, "We are currently operating the food waste processor factory acquired from Fore at full capacity, and this summer, monthly sales of food waste processors may exceed 30,000 units."
