[Financial News] Na Kyung-won, a member of the People Power Party, expressed opposition to demands from some within the party to apologize for opposing the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol, saying, "Why should I apologize?"

In an interview on the 11th with YTN Radio's 'Shin Yul's News Frontline', Representative Na emphasized that the proposal by Innovation Committee Chairperson Yoon Hee-sook to "officially apologize for the abuse of power by the former president and his wife and to stipulate a break with the former president in the party constitution" is a "political misstep that only repeats conflict and division." He explained that "the president has already left the party, and it was suggested to apologize for parts that could lead to division and conflict."

When the host mentioned that "there are talks about needing to resolve the relationship with the former president in some way," Representative Na said, "I have already apologized for martial law, and the former president has already left the party," indicating that there is nothing left to resolve within the party.

Regarding the issue of differing opinions during the impeachment situation, she emphasized, "If we are asked to apologize for that being the root of conflict and division, it could lead to another division, and our party cannot be united." She argued, "Why should I apologize for opposing the impeachment? Political judgment as a ruling party member should not be questioned."

Representative Na stated, "President Lee Jae-myung talks about cooperation, but the Democratic Party is trying to dissolve our party by creating a special law on rebellion, and they control the Speaker and Judiciary Committee Chair in the National Assembly, doing whatever they want. If we cannot stand up to this, it will lead to the ruling party's monopoly, and the damage will go directly to the people," arguing that "we must escape the swamp of apologies and the swamp of disconnection."

In particular, regarding whether she will run for the party convention, Representative Na said, "I will consider various ways regarding responsibility and role." The People Power Party plans to hold a party convention in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do on August 19 to elect a new leadership.
