[Financial News]  The special prosecutor team led by Min Jung-gi, investigating allegations related to Kim Geon-hee, has secured a text message containing evidence of personnel solicitation for prosecutors from the phone of Jeon Seong-bae, known as 'Geonjin Beopsa'. The text reportedly included the real names and positions of prosecutors, their birthdates, and even the phrase "I earnestly request".

According to the legal community on the 13th, Jeon received a personnel solicitation text regarding Prosecutor B from a person named A during the early days of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration. A appears to have tried to exert influence on the personnel line through Jeon, and the text contained specific information about the personnel target along with very respectful expressions.

However, it has not yet been confirmed whether Prosecutor B directly requested the solicitation or whether Jeon actually conveyed the content to the personnel line. The problematic text was secured by the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office during the forensic process of Jeon's phone, and all related materials have since been transferred to the special prosecutor team. Prosecutor B is reportedly still in office.

The special prosecutor plans to focus on how A sent the text and whether Jeon used it to intervene in prosecutor personnel matters. The investigation will also include the possibility of intervention using the acquaintance with the former President Yoon couple and whether the presidential office was aware at the time.

Under the special prosecutor law, the investigation targets include 'allegations of state and personnel intervention by Kim Geon-hee and her family, Myung Tae-kyun, and Geonjin Beopsa'. The content of this text is evaluated as potentially crucial evidence for proving these allegations.

Jeon Seong-bae has already been suspected of soliciting nominations from ruling party figures in two local elections. Texts containing the names of at least five prospective candidates from the Yeongnam region were also found on his phone. Additionally, hundreds of business cards from corporate executives, political figures, and police officials were discovered at Jeon's temple.

Previously, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office also detected evidence of Jeon's involvement in various bribery activities and has been investigating his activities as a 'political broker'. Based on these circumstances, the special prosecutor team is also reviewing the possibility of direct involvement by Kim Geon-hee and related individuals.kyu0705@fnnews.com Kim Dong-kyu Reporter
