[Financial News] The number of passengers on international flights at Gimhae Airport in the first half of the year reached 4.92 million, a 14.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to aviation statistics from Korea Airports Corporation on the 13th, from January to June this year, 4,927,945 people used international flights and 3,034,887 people used domestic flights at Gimhae Airport.
International flights increased by 14.9% compared to the same period last year.
The number of international passengers at Gimhae Airport was about 150,000 less than the record high of 5.08 million in 2019.
By international route, Japan had the most with 1,873,000 passengers. Vietnam had 974,000, Taiwan 623,000, China 473,000, the Philippines 309,000, Thailand 247,000, Hong Kong 154,000, Singapore 72,000, Guam 41,000, and Mongolia 36,000.
Compared to last year, the recovery trend of the China route was clearly evident.
The China route, with 473,000 passengers, increased by 42% compared to 331,000 last year.
By international airline, Air Busan had 1,415,000 passengers, Jin Air 816,000, Jeju Air 723,000, Korean Air 432,000, VietJet Air 417,000, Vietnam Airlines 219,000, Eastar Jet 204,000, China Airlines 126,000, Hong Kong Express 110,000, and T'way Air 99,000.
Domestic flights slightly decreased. Air Busan significantly reduced the number of domestic flights, but Korean Air rose to the top in domestic passengers thanks to the growth of transfer domestic flights at Incheon Airport included in domestic statistics.
