[Financial News] Hwang Ui-jo (33), who received a suspended sentence in the first trial for illegal filming charges, has re-signed with his team, Türkiye professional football club Alanyaspor.
Alanyaspor announced on the 12th (Korea time) through social media, "We have extended the contract with Hwang Ui-jo, whose contract had ended, for 2 more years," and "We wish him success in the new season."
Hwang Ui-jo, who joined Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League (EPL) in August 2022, was immediately loaned to Olympiacos (Greece), FC Seoul, Norwich City (England), and Alanyaspor.
Last September, he completely transferred to Alanyaspor with a one-year contract and contributed to the team's stay in the first division by recording 7 goals and 2 assists in 30 regular league matches (7 goals and 3 assists in 33 official matches) last season.
Although his contract with Alanyaspor expired on June 30, making him a free agent, the 2-year re-contract allows him to continue playing in Europe.
Meanwhile, Hwang Ui-jo was prosecuted for illegally filming videos of sexual intercourse without the other party's consent four times between June and September 2022. He was sentenced to 1 year in prison with a 2-year suspended sentence in the first trial and is currently appealing.
