[Financial News] President Lee Jae-myung said on the 11th, "To boost consumption, I must dine out more myself."
President Lee had dinner at Heungnam Budo in Jongno-gu, Seoul, that evening and said, "Today I have left work. When I leave work, many employees also leave work," he said.
President Lee personally made 'somaek' for the employees attending the dinner. He proposed a toast to the employees, saying, "Happy Friday evening."
At the dining event, when employees said, "It's difficult to meet President Lee in person," President Lee replied, "I will make sure we meet more often."
Before dining out, President Lee explained on social networking services (SNS) that "I am well aware that many of you are experiencing difficulties due to the recent rapid rise in prices," and "these days, even dining out feels much more burdensome than before."
President Lee emphasized, "I hope the livelihood recovery consumption coupon policy, which will be implemented from the 21st, will invigorate domestic demand and revitalize the local economy," and "I hope it becomes an opportunity to enjoy everyday consumption like dining out without much burden."
In particular, President Lee wrote, "Above all, for today's event to be a meaningful time, the participation of the people is necessary," and "I ask you to support self-employed people in your living space. A meal out by the people is a great help."
