[Financial News]  Prime Minister Kim Min-seok inspected the preparations for the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit in Gyeongju on the 11th, stating, "I hope to leave a 'K-APEC' history with a completion level beyond expectations."
Prime Minister Kim, at the site inspection meeting held at the HICO Convention Center in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, said, "This APEC is held in Gyeongju, the root and origin of the Korean Wave," and urged, "As it is an event with deep national, regional, public, historical, and cultural significance, please prepare with a special sense of mission."
He emphasized, "This summit is the best opportunity for the Republic of Korea, which is normalizing its entire national system after the rebellion, to show the world that it has recovered as a culturally dignified nation," and added, "It will be an opportunity to enhance the historical significance of the Republic of Korea and Gyeongju."
Prime Minister Kim directly inspected the progress of major infrastructure such as the summit venue, media center, accommodation facilities, and banquet hall. He particularly pointed out, "Not only hardware but also service quality is important," while checking the renovation status of each accommodation. He then ordered to raise the overall service level by strengthening education for related workers.
Regarding the banquet hall, known to be the slowest in progress, he instructed, "Prepare thoroughly with sufficient time." He emphasized meticulous completion to ensure that the banquet and cultural events proceed without a hitch.
Prime Minister Kim announced, "Today is the first site inspection," and predicted, "Next week, I will re-inspect overall matters such as accommodation, aviation and transportation, and cultural and economic event venues."

At the site, requests for active support from the central government continued.  Gyeongbuk Province Administrative Vice Governor Kim Hak-hong said, "There are 112 days left until the summit. I feel the weight and responsibility of the importance of the event every day," and requested, "Special grant tax support is needed to hold the summit more successfully."
Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young also stated, "I ask for the government's interest and cooperation so that Gyeongju can leap forward as a global tourist city and become an innovative model for balanced development in the local era."
Meanwhile, President Lee Jae-myung instructed Prime Minister Kim through SNS X (formerly Twitter) to closely inspect the progress of APEC-related infrastructure on the morning of the same day. In response, Prime Minister Kim said, "I will comprehensively grasp the site situation and set future plans," and added, "I will report immediately after today's inspection."
