This tournament, organized by the Korea Golf Association (KGA) and hosted by Shinhan Financial Group, will feature 112 amateur players representing Korea, competing to determine the strongest amateur in the country.
This year's tournament will include top-ranked KGA player Kim Min-su, who tied for 4th place at the 67th Korea Open held last May, along with national team members and reserve members such as Choi Jun-hee, Lee Jae-won, Yoo Min-hyuk, and Kang Seung-gu, all competing for the championship.
The competition will be conducted in a 4-round, 72-hole (par 72, 6,100m) stroke play format, with 66 players advancing to the finals after 2 preliminary rounds. Continuing from last year, the final winner will be granted entry to the 41st Shinhan Donghae Open, held from September 11 at Jack Nicklaus GC in Songdo, Incheon. They will compete against top-tier players from Asia, including Korea and Japan.
Shinhan Financial Chairman Jin Ok-dong stated, "We hope that through this amateur tournament, promising domestic golfers can grow and advance to larger stages," adding, "Shinhan Financial will continue to support the growth of Korea's golf prodigies, following the spirit of the Shinhan Donghae Open, established over 40 years ago to expand the base of golf in Korea and discover outstanding players."
