Korea Electric Power Technology announced on the 11th that President Kim Tae-gyun visited the 'Jeju Hallim Offshore Wind Power Complex' on the 10th to inspect the facilities after completion.
Korea Electric Power Technology, along with Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Midland Power, Hyundai Construction, and other power public enterprises and private companies, participated in the 'Jeju Hallim Offshore Wind Power Complex' project, which involves installing 18 offshore wind turbines with a capacity of 5.56MW in the waters of Hallim-eup, Jeju Island. The comprehensive completion was achieved last February. Utilizing Jeju Island's excellent wind resources, it is expected to produce 253GWh of electricity annually and achieve a carbon reduction effect equivalent to 120,000 tons per year.
Korea Electric Power Technology has been evaluated for successfully performing all processes from project development to licensing, design, procurement, and commissioning based on thorough project management within the set deadline, while simultaneously enhancing the localization rate, proving its capabilities as an EPC contractor in the renewable energy sector.
President Kim Tae-gyun emphasized, "Based on the successful project execution experience of Jeju Hallim Offshore Wind Power, we will advance offshore wind design technology to become a globally competitive offshore wind FEED specialist company," and "In line with the global trend of carbon neutrality transition, we will continuously explore new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector through public-private collaboration."
