[Financial News] Kim Byeong-gi, acting representative and floor leader of the Democratic Party, strongly criticized the Regulatory Reform Committee under the Prime Minister's Office for recommending a reconsideration of the '2 hours work, 20 minutes rest' principle in the scorching heat, saying, "I won't ask you to work, but try standing in the scorching sun for about 20 minutes."
Floor Leader Kim stated at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the 11th, "Do you think the principle of giving a 20-minute break after working for 2 hours in an environment over 33 degrees is excessive regulation on companies?"
Floor Leader Kim emphasized, "Public officials must have a cool head and a warm heart. If they have a warm head and a cool heart, they are not qualified as public officials," adding, "This is a matter directly related to the people's lives, which is more important than anything else. I urge the Regulatory Reform Committee to awaken and conduct a forward-looking review."
He also added, "In addition, I urge the Ministry of Employment and Labor to thoroughly guide and inspect the field. The Democratic Party will prepare and promote measures at the party level, including legislation, to establish the principle of 2 hours work, 20 minutes rest."
Along with this, Floor Leader Kim urged a swift investigation into the special prosecutor, saying, "I urge a swift investigation into Mr. Kim, the butler of Kim Geon-hee. Any related criminal acts identified during the investigation process are clearly the subject of the special prosecutor's investigation," adding, "If necessary, we will actively support the special prosecutor by amending the special prosecutor law to prevent any disruption to the investigation due to legal loopholes or differences in legal interpretation."
He also pointed out, "I request the three major special prosecutors to reveal the truth and crimes of the insurgent and corrupt forces centered on Yoon Seok-yeol and Kim Geon-hee," adding, "This is the command of the sovereign people. Bring them all to the judgment seat of the law."
