[Financial News]  Kang Seon-woo, Minister of Gender Equality and Family nominee, who was accused of power abuse during her time as a member of the National Assembly, denied the allegations that she had her aides repair her house, calling it false information, but conflicting conversation details were revealed.
Candidate Kang claimed she did not assign toilet repair, but 'false' circumstances

According to SBS on the 10th, candidate Kang completely denied the power abuse allegations surrounding her, but it was found to be false.

Previously, A, who was an aide to Assemblywoman Kang, claimed that candidate Kang had her repair the toilet in her house.

In response, candidate Kang explained, "When I said 'the house was flooded,' one of the aides contacted the management office," and "I never asked the aides to repair the toilet or do house chores."

However, according to the conversation between candidate Kang and A released by SBS, candidate Kang said, "I have a request. The toilet in my house is leaking badly, please check it." Later, A reported to candidate Kang, "The repair is done," to which candidate Kang replied, "Got it."

Contrary to candidate Kang's explanation, she requested aide A to fix the broken toilet in her house.

Regarding this, Park Jeom-gyu, an operating committee member of Workplace Gapjil 119, pointed out to SBS, "This is not a public task but a personal errand imposed on her staff," and "This is clearly an act of workplace harassment as stated in the Ministry of Labor's workplace harassment manual."
Suspicion of instructing another aide to dispose of household trash

Candidate Kang also completely denied the allegations that she instructed another aide to dispose of household trash.

However, it was found that such a complaint had been filed with the Democratic Party's aide group during the 21st National Assembly, and a post raising the same suspicion was also highlighted through the anonymous bulletin board of the National Assembly staff's social networking service (SNS) last year. At that time, it was known that candidate Kang's side tried to find out who wrote the post against former aides.
46 cases of aide dismissal in 5 years... Power abuse allegations raised

Previously, it was revealed that candidate Kang had 46 cases of aide dismissal during her 5-year tenure as a member of the National Assembly, raising allegations of power abuse.

According to the status of 'Aide Appointment and Dismissal Dates During the National Assembly Tenure' submitted by the Office of Assemblywoman Han Ji-ah of the People Power Party from the National Assembly Secretariat on the 9th, candidate Kang has hired 51 people and dismissed 46 since being elected in the 2020 National Assembly election.

Regarding this, the National Assembly Secretariat explained, "The same person may be duplicated as it includes individual rank change details."

Song Eon-seok, the emergency committee chairman and floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized candidate Kang at the emergency committee meeting held at the National Assembly on the 10th, saying, "If the power abuse allegations are true, she is not qualified to be a minister, let alone a member of the National Assembly."

Cheon Ha-ram, acting representative and floor leader, also pointed out at the supreme council meeting regarding candidate Kang's aide power abuse allegations, "It is like treating aides as servants," and "We cannot use a National Assembly member who cosplays as a queen as a minister."

Meanwhile, candidate Kang stated that she would explain the controversy surrounding her at the hearing on the 14th.
