【Financial News Muan=Hwang Tae-jong Reporter】Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam, said on the 11th, "Using the groundbreaking RE100 industrial complex policy of the new government as a stepping stone, we will create a future energy new city model, such as fostering the 'Southwest Region Population 500,000 Energy Innovation Growth Belt' and realizing the 'Annual 1 Trillion Won Energy Basic Income Era'."
 Governor Kim stated this in the provincial government office briefing room through the 'Welcome Statement for the Groundbreaking RE100 Industrial Complex Policy of the Lee Jae-myung Government', saying, "As a result of devoting all efforts to securing new growth engines through energy transformation, the path to 'Jeonnam, the Energy Capital of Korea' has opened rapidly."
 Previously, the Lee Jae-myung government announced a swift and groundbreaking RE100 industrial complex policy on the 10th, 36 days after its inauguration. It plans to create an RE100 industrial complex in Jeonnam that fully meets the RE100 demand of companies and utilizes 100% regional renewable energy, and based on this, to establish an energy new city. This is a national project that goes beyond simple industrial complex creation to redesign the energy supply system and the industrial map of Korea.
 To this end, the government plans to enact a 'tentatively named Special Act on the Creation and Support of RE100 Industrial Complexes and Energy New Cities', which is the legal basis for providing drastic incentives for stable power supply and corporate attraction, and support measures for improving residential conditions.
 In addition, a task force (TF) consisting of related ministries such as the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, along with experts, will be formed to prepare specific promotion plans.
 In particular, President Lee Jae-myung gave a special directive to prepare a much more groundbreaking electricity rate discount plan than originally planned, reflecting the zero regulation on RE100 industrial complexes, drastic improvements in education and residential conditions, and the effect of local production and consumption. This is expected to be the key to the success of the Jeonnam RE100 industrial complex.
 The power system problem-solving plan, which was proposed to the president during the Gwangju Town Hall Meeting on June 25, was also announced. The government expressed its intention to expand the grid connection volume to 1GW within 100 days by filtering out phantom operators and to increase the total grid connection volume to 2.3GW by the end of the year. In addition, as it is necessary to innovate the power grid to leap into the top three AI countries, the K-Grid innovation plan, which includes the construction of an energy highway using new technologies such as HVDC, will be announced soon.
 Governor Kim said, "Jeonnam is the optimal location for the creation of RE100 industrial complexes. Based on the richest sunlight and wind resources in the country, we plan to build a new renewable energy power plant complex with a total capacity of 23GW by 2030," adding, "Using this as a stepping stone, we will create the 'Southwest Region Population 500,000 Energy Innovation Growth Belt' and realize the 'Annual 1 Trillion Won Energy Basic Income Era' by 2030." He continued, "As per the government's announcement, we will actively prepare drastic measures to improve education and residential conditions and write a new history that changes the landscape of Jeonnam Province."
 He also emphasized, "We will pour all our efforts into building an AI energy new city and Asia-Pacific offshore wind power hub in the southwest region, including the corporate city Solar City, and establishing an advanced agricultural industry convergence district and advanced food industry, future advanced industry RE100 convergence complex, and AI computing data center," adding, "We will definitely create a successful model of RE100 industrial complexes and future energy new cities with the government."
