[Financial News] The special prosecutor team led by Chae Sang-byeong (Lee Myung-hyun special prosecutor) launched a search and seizure against former President Yoon Suk-yeol, who was pointed out as the 'peak' of the investigation pressure allegations, on the 11th.
The special prosecutor's team began executing a search and seizure warrant for Yoon's private residence at Acro Vista, Seocho-dong, Seoul, from the morning, according to Jeong Min-young, deputy special prosecutor.
Deputy Special Prosecutor Jeong said, "It is understood that our investigators are talking with Yoon's lawyer on the first floor of Acro Vista," adding, "If it is agreed that the lawyer participates, it is possible even without the party."
He further explained, "The search and seizure warrant is for the charge of abuse of power obstructing the exercise of rights," and "it is a situation where Chae Sang-byeong has been accused as a suspect in the entire process of withholding and retrieving the transfer related to the records, and then changing the investigation results."
The VIP anger rumor is that former President Yoon Suk-yeol was 'furious' after receiving a report on the initial investigation results of the Marine Corps investigation team at a presidential office meeting on the morning of July 31, 2023, saying, "If you punish the division commander for such a thing, who can be a division commander?" and allegedly withheld the police transfer and changed the investigation results of the Marine Corps investigation team. Former President Yoon was detained early the previous day and is currently held at Seoul Detention Center.
