According to Wonju City on the 11th, the two institutions signed a business agreement on the 9th to introduce digital new technologies in the construction field.
This cooperation is carried out in the field of fostering specialized talents leading regional industries and city-county specialized projects among the Regional Innovation Centered University Support System (RISE) projects, and Halla University will receive a total of 2.28 billion won over five years from Gangwon Province to promote related projects.
The two institutions agreed to pool their efforts in developing various programs and technologies to enhance sustainable development and industrial safety through the agreement.
In particular, they plan to significantly enhance the safety of construction sites by introducing advanced technologies such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), digital twins, and drones, and strengthening professional education.
Wonju City expects that this agreement will bring about new changes throughout the industry by innovating existing construction technologies in a smart and efficient direction. The city plans to leap forward as a key hub leading the future-oriented construction industry based on digital technology.
Mun-gi Kim, Deputy Mayor of Wonju, said, “I am confident that this agreement will be an opportunity for Wonju City to leap into the nation's top-level smart construction city,” adding, “It will also greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy and creating a safe construction environment.”
