[Financial News] Shinsung ENG announced on the 11th that it has been selected as the lead organization for the 'Industrial High-Cleanliness Equipment Ultra-Efficiency Technology Development and Demonstration' project, a core technology development project for energy demand management in 2025, supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation Institute.
This project, with a scale of 22.3 billion won, will be carried out over 3 years and 9 months from April this year to December 2028. The goal is to reduce energy consumption in the air conditioning and energy management systems within semiconductor and display cleanrooms by more than 20%.
The project involves a total of 13 organizations, including Shinsung ENG, Samsung Electronics, Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials, Korea Electronics Technology Institute, Taeyang Electric, Gemvax & KAEL, Korea Air Tech, Air Lab, Korea Air Cleaning Association, Sungkyunkwan University, Korea University, Chung-Ang University, and Pukyong National University.
The chief research manager of the project, Executive Director Kim Dong-kwon of Shinsung ENG, is an expert who has led numerous R&D and industrial projects in the field of cleanroom air conditioning systems and energy saving for about 30 years.
The main tasks of this R&D project include △ energy saving in outdoor unit operation △ energy saving in major thermal management systems △ energy saving in cleanroom operation △ demonstration of over 5,000 hours.
Shinsung ENG has established itself as a leading technology company in the semiconductor and display industry infrastructure, based on its accumulated proprietary design technology and ultra-precision control capabilities in the cleanroom field. Since the late 1970s, Shinsung ENG has grown alongside the domestic semiconductor industry and is currently developing an advanced system that simultaneously satisfies nano-level cleanliness and energy efficiency.
Through this government project, Shinsung ENG plans to further expand its super-gap in high-cleanliness equipment and energy-saving technology, strengthen its technological competitiveness in the global cleanroom market, and continue to play a pivotal role in the development of the next-generation semiconductor industry.
A representative of Shinsung ENG stated, "Through this project, we will dramatically improve the energy efficiency of advanced industrial cleanrooms and contribute to carbon neutrality and the strengthening of the global competitiveness of the domestic cleanroom industry," adding, "We will set a new milestone in high-cleanliness equipment technology through successful project execution."
