BizCool-Youth Startup Meetup Day
[Financial News] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 11th that it held the '2025 BizCool-Youth Startup Meetup Day' at the main campus of the Youth Startup Academy in Ansan to foster creativity and entrepreneurship among youth.
Students participating in the event visited the startup incubation facilities of the Youth Startup Academy to experience real startup spaces, studios, and prototype production rooms. They also listened to vivid stories about the commercialization process and experiences of success and failure through group mentoring with professors from the Youth Startup Academy and mentors who are young CEOs.
Hong Seok-won, a young CEO and a student of the Youth Startup Academy who participated as a mentor in this event, said, "I vaguely dreamed of starting a business since high school, but it was a meaningful moment to share my experience today," adding, "I hope it becomes an opportunity for students to challenge themselves without fearing entrepreneurship."
Choi Yoon-jong, a second-year student at Samgwe High School, said, "Through the experience of directly seeing and hearing the site where young entrepreneurs work, I have gained a passion for entrepreneurship."
Last May, Minister Oh Young-joo of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups visited Samgwe High School in Gyeonggi Province, which is the first to introduce and utilize the entrepreneurship textbook for youth. Minister Oh emphasized the need for a bridge program that allows students to experience the vivid experiences of the startup field beyond mere theoretical knowledge acquisition. This BizCool-Youth Startup Meetup Day was prepared as part of that effort.
Since 2002, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has been operating the BizCool program targeting over 400 elementary, middle, and high schools. Through this, it has been conducting entrepreneurship education for youth and nurturing convergent creative talents with dreams and a spirit of challenge.
Additionally, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups operates the Youth Startup Academy to support the commercialization funds for nurturing future startup leaders and innovative young CEOs. It systematically supports the entire process needed for startups, including technical education, expert mentoring, and networking, to solve various difficulties that young entrepreneurs may face.
A representative from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups said, "The BizCool program and the youth entrepreneurship textbook education are playing a role as a primer for youth to grow into future innovators by going beyond indirect experiences of entrepreneurship to defining and solving problems themselves," adding, "We will continue to expand the connection programs between schools and startup sites by utilizing various startup infrastructures like the Youth Startup Academy."
