[Financial News] Shinsegae Duty Free and Seoul Museum of Art are joining hands to embark on a media art collaboration that encapsulates the discourse on the climate crisis.
Shinsegae Duty Free announced on the 11th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Seoul Museum of Art on the 10th to strengthen content exchange and collaboration. Through this agreement, the two institutions plan to jointly promote media art and exhibition planning, art branding collaboration, and the development of public interest content.
This collaboration is designed to deliver awareness of the global climate crisis and practical messages through art. It focuses on re-examining social roles through media art that can maximize audience immersion and dissemination.
Shinsegae Duty Free intends to strengthen its role as a hub for cultural and artistic exchanges both domestically and internationally.
The first collaborative project is the exhibition
Eight artists (teams) from the fields of media art, installation, video, and painting, including Kim Jun, Kim Hae-sim, Song Min-kyu, Irwan Ahmet & Tita Salina, Jang Han-na, Choi Chan-sook, and Choi Jang-won, will participate to present works exploring ecological environmental ethics and climate action.
Shinsegae Duty Free's Myeongdong branch Iconic Zone on the 10th floor will also host a related media art exhibition in line with the exhibition schedule. Through this, they plan to raise awareness of the climate crisis discourse among overseas tourists visiting the duty-free shop and convey public interest values and a sustainable image.
A representative from Shinsegae Duty Free stated, "Through collaboration with Seoul Museum of Art, we aim to introduce Korean culture and creativity to the world and create a positive brand image by offering high-quality content to customers," adding, "We will evolve into a duty-free shopping space that considers the social responsibility of art and a sustainable future."
